I love this piece (Gorge 001) so much from the moment I saw it. Then it was difficult to choose between her amazing pieces but I am very happy I stuck with this. The piece is so unusual and textural and has a very calming and even mesmerizing effect. The quality of the frame, and the materials is excellent. It was sent with a certificate of authenticity and ready to hang, even a template for hanging was provided. Elle was wonderful to work with, an excellent communicator in addition to being a talented artist and very nice as well. The shipping was much faster than I expected and the piece was packed with care and came through perfectly.

💔2024: Last year when this piece was severely damaged in transit (it looked like the box was stabbed and stomped on), I nearly gave up.

But I made a completely new piece from scratch…while awaiting news on if I would receive any compensation at all.

My lovely customer received her new piece (I have amazing art couriers now!) and I then finally received the full compensation.

I managed to replace the support bar and re-weave 3 massive sections on the original.

I took all this as a sign that this piece of art needs to stay with me!

❤️2025: A year later, this exact piece is now on show in my very first exhibition in a beautiful art gallery in South Kensington, London @mariejosegallery .
Alongside 5 other beautiful artists, all inspired by nature.

An absolute dream come true, a dream I have had since I began weaving nearly 9 years ago.

I have exciting news I’ve been wanting to say for over 8 years…

I’ve been having all sorts of emotions flying around…excitement, pride, anxiousness, imposter syndrome. Which is why I’ve been rather quiet.

But with it all set up and launching tonight, I’m feeling very proud 🥹 (the lovely Marie Jose in the last photo, who I can’t wait to meet in person!)

I was very honoured to be asked, and more than happy to contribute some of my art to a charity which affects so many of us.

(The Mariposa Trust is a family run charity, also known by its primary support division ‘Saying Goodbye’. The charity supports people who have gone through baby loss.)

Luckily these toes are getting nearly as strong as my finger tips…holding up over 7kg of my precision signature knots. Using Egyptian cotton and solid oak, to create wall sculptures you won’t want to stop stroking (with clean hands please!).

Getting back to full speed after a burnout…

So I’m sharing more behind the scenes so you can see the inspiration behind my art, and get to know me as the artist a bit more!

Here’s our recent winter break to Devon…full of lurgy but not letting that stop us! (Though it did stop my annual winter sea swim 😢)

December & January are now my months to slow down. I’m slowly listening to my body and being more mindful about pressures I put on myself. Sometimes you just have to stop and put yourself and family first.

But I’ve been picking up pace behind the scenes…finishing lots of new frames to get weaving in, between commissions.

So I will have more available pieces for you to peruse soon 🫶🏻 I’m desperate to get weaving again and to put the drill away!

Life lately… it’s been safe to say, I’ve been having a little impromptu & well earned break after my last mammoth commission!

So thought I’d do something different and share a bit more behind the scenes with you (‘felt cute, might delete later’ type thing 😆)

My newest commissions, now on their way across the pond to California, USA.

It’s always such an emotional time when you’ve spent countless hours creating something so close to your heart, to then wrap it up straight away and send it on its lonesome way into the world.

I would have liked a bit more time with them, to just sit and stare, take note of every beam of light that creates new shadows throughout the day.

But alas…they have new exciting adventures on the horizon. Hopefully still getting stared at intently 😉

🖤 In other news, I’m now in the process of making a load of new frames to weave in; minis, smalls and mediums. About 18 I think!

They won’t be woven into till the new year… Christmas time is my time to take things easy and enjoy it as a family 🥰

Thats a new pet friendly sofa cover by @menotti.sofacovers which I’m super impressed with and jumped at the chance to sample.

It’s a soft velvet (in ‘brown’, though in our home I feel it’s a nice warm grey) and stretches to any shape, so no dingy dangly bits 💪 (and washable!!)

I’m sure you can imagine…the cover is needed with a crazy teenage cocker spaniel pup! Mia the cat is just better at acting, so she was summoned for this job.

Inspired by the gorgeous natural phenomenon of super thick, white, sea foam. Created by waves or strong winds injecting air into the dissolved organic sea matter. Dancing across the shoreline when the sea breeze hits it.

Something I get exceptionally excited about when we see it on our family trips to the Devonshire seaside.

So I just had to recreate that feeling in my own signature knots (thousands of them!)

This is the largest piece I have made so far… about 750 metres of cotton and over 80 hours of work. From making the frame myself to weaving thousands of squishy knots.

All in the hope of inspiring you the viewer, to feel like you are in nature. Looking into the carved out landscapes of nature, filled with rivers and waterfalls.

I’m really tempted to make an all neutral one (so ivory in the lines instead of the black). What do you think?

On our regular family trips to Devon, we are lucky enough to witness the gorgeous natural phenomenon of super thick, white, sea foam. Created by waves or strong winds injecting air into the dissolved organic sea matter. Dancing across the shoreline when the sea breeze hits it.

Over the last few years I’ve become obsessed with creating sculptural texture with my own unique style of knots. Knots which I have minimal plan for, but build intuitively once inspiration strikes.

My aim is to create art for the homes of nature lovers, in a subtle yet eye catching way. Art which enables your mind to feel the beautiful calmness of the inspiration behind them.

A recent commission for a small ‘Beach Cliff’…inspired by the rock formations around the Devonshire & Cornish coastlines.

Being landlocked here in the Midlands UK, I crave to be surrounded by subtle reminders of places that make me come off my phone, be in the moment and soak in all the beauty of Mother Nature.

What a year so far…every single piece will be imprinted in my heart forever. As are the beautiful sights in nature that they are inspired by. Waterfalls, waves, rocks, moss…
