6 months of weaving, over a mile of the softest Egyptian cotton…and the inner strength to overcome the hugest amount of imposter syndrome on multiple occasions!

My ‘little’ instagram break really escalated. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to show the final result. But this piece has been the hardest, yet most rewarding thing I have ever created (excluding our son of course!).

Narrative Gallery was also awarded the Curatorial Excellence Award, recognised for a calm, considered stand with a clear visual narrative.

At 205cm wide, I’m also very happy my measurements were correct and this frame actually fit into my studio. Behind that door is a sharp corner…it was a very tight fit!!

The final piece of the series will be the largest yet, at 2m wide. All are woven on bespoke powder-coated aluminium frames, designed in-house by me.

Back in the zone!! 🥹

I need to be honest with you… I love every second of my very slow and meditative art, but this, my biggest commission so far (and designing the new frames, then learning new techniques for it) got me in a bit of a panic at the end of last year 😳 it all got a bit overwhelming.

This one of course is inspired by caves. We’ve been lucky enough to come across a few on our nature explorations as a family, here in the UK.

Something I love about them is they usually stay well hidden if approaching from the side…it’s only as you draw near do you discover that mysteriously dark doorway.

I was determined to achieve that in this woven piece.

🤎 Happy New Year to you!! We had a lovely festive break of hosting family, then running off to Devon for some much needed nature time. I even managed a sea dip in the very cold 9 Celsius sea!

The end of last year got a little much for me with various things…but I’m ready to leave that behind now 💪

Hi I’m Elle,

I’m 43 and live near Birmingham UK, with my husband, 8 year old son, sassy British blue cat and a crazy cocker spaniel.

I’m socially awkward, anxious, an overthinker and very emotional. Weaving and exploring nature helps my brain to focus on one thing.

I began weaving to create decor for our son’s nursery…teaching myself and generally just playing around till I found my own personal style. A style which has now blossomed into what you see here.

In the last 8 years I have now sold 717 pieces of my art, to 26 countries around the world.

My plan for my art is to keep making what I love. And to try to get better at believing in myself more consistently, to shake off the imposter syndrome blips which make me just want to hide under a rock!
